La Liga giants Barcelona have on Saturday registered the final member of the club’s summer recruitment drive for action in Spain’s top-flight this coming season.
This of course comes just in time for the Blaugrana’s opening fixture of the defence of their crown.
Hansi Flick’s troops are primed to get their endeavours for the 2026/27 campaign up-and-running on Sunday evening. A meeting with Elche likes in wait, at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero.
In the buildup to the clash, those behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital have been hard at work, in efforts to ensure the availability of as many players as possible for Flick and his staff.
On Friday, Deco and co, in turn, managed to register all of Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi and Rodri with La Liga in time to face Elche.
Of the summer recruits at Barca, this left just João Cancelo to be made eligible for action in Blaugrana colours. And as alluded to above, 24 hours out from his side’s season opener, the Portuguese has indeed made his way onto La Liga’s official website as a registered player:
