Official: Barcelona name squad to face Inter Milan, featuring key absences

The squad of players called upon by the coaching staff at La Liga giants Barcelona for their upcoming showdown with Inter Milan has been unveiled online.

And it features, as expected, several high-profile exclusions.

Barcelona are of course primed to return to action later this evening.

Shifting focus back towards matters on the continent fresh off securing the Copa del Rey title over the weekend, the Blaugrana will lock horns with the aforementioned Inter Milan.

The fixture comes as the first of two between the sides in the semi-finals of the Champions League.

As is customary on matchday, Barcelona, in turn, unveiled their squad to face the Serie A champions a short time ago.

Front and centre in as much are the star performers from this past weekend’s El Clásico, in the form of the likes of Jules Koundé, Lamine Yamal, and Ferran Torres.

Missing out, though, are a number of leading Barca players, too, with all of Robert Lewandowski, Alejandro Balde, Marc Casadó and Marc Bernal remaining unavailable for selection through injury.

Marc-André ter Stegen is not called up, either, with the German not registered for the Champions League following his long-term spell on the sidelines.
