Official | Barcelona appoint Xavi as new manager

Barcelona have reached an agreement with Xavi Hernández to become the club’s new manager on a deal until 2024.

Xavi has left Al Sadd after talks in recent days between the coach, Barça and the Qatari club.

The 41-year-old is expected to arrive in Barcelona this weekend and his presentation as the new FC Barcelona first team coach will take place on Monday at Camp Nou.

The club legend played 767 times for Barça, a record until he was surpassed recently by Lionel Messi (778). In his 17 years in the first team (1998 to 2015), he won 25 major trophies.
