Official: Barcelona announce youngster’s contract termination

La Liga giants Barcelona have early this week announced the contract termination of a member of the club’s attacking ranks at reserve team level.

The player set to depart Catalunya’s capital with immediate effect? Alan Godoy.

Frontman Godoy, capable of lining out either through the middle or on the wing, only linked up with Barcelona in February of last year, in a permanent transfer from Eldense.

The 23-year-old went on to find the net three times in nine appearances over the 2nd half of the 2024/25 campaign, whilst lining out in the colours of Barca Atlètic.

From here, however, Godoy was farmed out on a pair of successive loans, as it became increasingly clear that the Spaniard did not feature in the plans of the Blaugrana moving forward.

This week, it has therefore come as little surprise to hear of the parties going their separate ways, this time on a permanent basis.

As per a statement across Barcelona’s website and social media platforms:

‘FC Barcelona have reached an agreement with Canarian striker Alan Godoy to resolve the contractual relationship that united the player with the Club.

‘FC Barcelona would like to express its gratitude to Alan Godoy for his commitment, dedication and professionalism during his time at the Club, and wishes him good luck and many successes in both his personal and professional life.’
