La Liga champions Barcelona have on Saturday announced the latest high-profile departure from the club’s first-team ranks. This comes amid confirmation that Ferran Torres has put pen to paper on terms with Paris Saint-Germain.
Frontman Ferran’s Camp Nou exit has of course been on the cards for several weeks now. After word was forthcoming that European champions PSG had set their sights firmly on the 26-year-old’s signature, Ferran personally opened the doors to the transfer.
Negotiations, in turn, were kicked into gear between the respective boards in Catalunya’s capital and its French equivalent over the terms of a permanent transfer.
And as alluded to above, this weekend, these talks have at last borne fruit. As per a statement across Barcelona’s official website and social media platforms:
‘FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain reach agreement on transfer of Ferran Torres to the French club.’
Despite Ferran’s contract terms having been due to expire in the summer of 2027, Barca are understood to have secured a fee in the region of €50 million for the Spaniard’s signature.
