Official: Atlético Madrid announce another summer signing

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid hav on Tuesday announced a fresh addition to the club’s first-team ranks.

The player in question? Juan Musso.

The name of goalkeeper Musso has of course positioned itself front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital over the course of recent days.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the Argentine had been identified as a chief target on the part of the Wanda Metropolitano brass ahead of the transfer deadline.

After Horațiu Moldovan departed for Italian outfit Sassuolo on a season-long loan, Atlético required a new backup for no.1 Jan Oblak.

And Musso was quickly identified as the ideal profile to fill this role.

Negotiations, in turn, were kicked into gear with Serie A club Atalanta, over the terms of a transfer for the shot-stopper.

And, as alluded to above, this evening, such talks have officially borne fruit.

As per a statement across Atlético Madrid’s website and social media platforms on Tuesday:

‘Atlético Madrid and Atalanta have come to an agreement for Juan Musso to join the club on loan until the end of the season.

‘The goalkeeper passed the required medical examination at Vithas – Invictum High-Performance Sports Medicine Centre at the Hospital Universitario Madrid Arturo Soria before signing his contract.

‘Welcome, Musso!’
