‘Not true’ – Real Madrid boss Ancelotti hits back at fans and critics

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has this weekend moved to fire a message of defiance to his many critics.

This comes amid long-standing questions over the Italian’s use of young players, and matchday substitions alike.

Whilst Ancelotti has continued to put major silverware in the trophy cabinet at the Santiago Bernabéu across his 2nd stint with the club, he has nevertheless been on the receiving end of near-constant criticism.

Widespread sections of the Real Madrid faithful make their grievances with their side’s headmaster clear on a near weekly basis, with much of the condemnation based around two leading factors:

Ancelotti’s lack of trust in young players, and his hesitance to introduce substitutes earlier in fixtures.

Speaking to the media ahead of his side’s La Liga meeting with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday, the subject of such qualms was, in turn, put to the legendary tactician himself:

‘Are you annoyed when people say that you don’t use youngsters and don’t make substitutions?,’ Ancelotti was asked.

The Italian, however, was defiant in his response, assuring that:

“No, I’m not annoyed… because it’s not true.”
