‘Not in his plans’ – Hansi Flick makes call on another Barcelona star’s future

New Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has come to a final decision on the future of a high-profile member of his defensive ranks.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Iñigo Martínez as the player in question.

Stopper Iñigo, for his part, has long seen his future in Catalunya’s capital thrown up in the air.

As much comes with the Spaniard’s biggest supporter, in Xavi, having of course been sent on his way by the Barcelona brass earlier in the summer.

The 33-year-old’s place in the plans of replacement Hansi Flick, amid something of a logjam at the heart of defence in the Blaugrana’s squad, has in turn been labelled as altogether more unclear.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media on Monday is anything to go by, Flick, now, has made a final decision.

As per MD:

‘The former Athletic centre-back , who has one year left on his contract and is not registered with LaLiga, is not in Flick’s plans.’

With Iñigo, for his part, in no rush to move on, it now remains to be seen if a mutual agreement regarding a parting of ways can be found between the parties.
