No Kroos replacement: Real Madrid’s 6-man midfield plan for next season

An insight into the plans of the powers that be at La Liga giants Real Madrid for the club’s ranks in the middle of the park for next season has today been provided.

The info comes courtesy of COPE, and points towards Los Blancos preparing to make do with their current options.

All in Spain’s capital were of course rocked to their very core on Tuesday, upon Toni Kroos announcing his decision to hang up his boots in the summer.

With the previous expectation having been that the German international would put pen to paper on a one-year extension to his contract, it has in turn been hinted that the Real Madrid brass could seek out a replacement on the market.

This, however, will not prove the case, for now…

As per the aforementioned COPE, those behind the scenes at the Santiago Bernabéu are of the opinion that there is currently no player with the right profile to replace Kroos on the market.

They will therefore spend the upcoming season seeking out as much, with a view to a potential move in the summer of 2025.

In the meantime, Jude Bellingham is set to drop into a deeper position in the middle of the park, with Eduardo Camavinga in line for a more prominent role in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.

With Ancelotti having recently made clear that he intends to utilise Arda Güler in the attacking third, Real Madrid’s midfield options for next season therefore stand as:

Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde, Dani Ceballos, Eduardo Camavinga, Luka Modrić, and Aurélien Tchouaméni.
