Nicolas Jackson’s move from Villarreal to Bournemouth is off

Nicolas Jackson’s move to Bournemouth is now off, reports Fabrizio Romano.

The young forward has reportedly failed his medical as he was expected to be back from a hamstring injury on February 10 but club doctors at Bournemouth feel the 21-year-old won’t be ready for action before March 10.

Jackson will now return to La Liga side Villarreal, who he was set to leave for a fee in the region of €25m.

The forward, who was in Senegal’s World Cup squad, has netted three goals in 24 games in all competitions for the Yellow Submarine this season.

In the midst of their Premier League relegation fight, Bournemouth have decided to put the brakes on the operation and opt for other alternatives that offer them a more immediate return.

Villarreal had reached an agreement with Leicester’s Ayoze Pérez but it now remains to be seen whether this move will go ahead or whether Villarreal will pull out of the deal.
