Nico Williams not enough: Barcelona chief Laporta wants 2 major attacking signings

A fresh insight into the wishes of Barcelona president Joan Laporta for the summer transfer window has this week been forthcoming online.

The info comes courtesy of Barca insider Gerard Romero, and points towards Laporta and co. as preparing to spring something of a surprise.

Recent weeks have of course seen it widely reported that the Blaugrana have settled on one leading target to reinforce the frontline of new head coach Hansi Flick for next season.

The player in question? Nico Williams.

The Camp Nou brass, in turn, have begun actively working towards thrashing out a deal for the Euro 2024 winner.

If Laporta has his way, however, the attack-minded additions will not come to an end there…

As per the aforementioned Gerard Romero of Jijantes:

‘The president of Barça, Joan Laporta, this past weekend asked Deco to do everything possible to close Nico Williams and Dani Olmo.’

Deco, equally eager to take advantage of Barcelona’s apparent new-found life on the financial front, therefore held meetings with the agents of both Williams and Spanish international teammate Olmo, over the course of the last 48 hours.
