Former Real Madrid starlet Nico Paz has this weekend sent a message of support and congratulations to a current member of Los Blancos’ ranks.
The player in question? Fran González.
Goalkeeper Fran is for his part fresh off a special day on Saturday.
This came upon the Spaniard being afforded his first-ever senior appearance in the colours of Real Madrid.
With Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin unavailable owing to injury, Fran was thrown in at the deep end, by way of a starting berth in Los Merengues’ La Liga meeting with Valencia.
Carlo Ancelotti’s troops were ultimately condemned to the wrong side of a 2-1 result, but Saturday will nevertheless remain a day which will love long in the memory for the 19-year-old shot-stopper.
And as alluded to above, quick to reveal his delight for his former teammate on the back of his first-team bow was another one-time member of the academy setup in Spain’s capital.
