A pair of Premier League clubs have set their sights on the signature of a leading member of the defensive ranks at Spanish outfit Rayo Vallecano.
This comes amid mounting interest in the services of Andrei Rațiu.
Rațiu, for his part, is fresh off a brilliant individual campaign on the books of Rayo Vallecano, which saw the Romanian international pique the attentions of a whole host of leading Spanish clubs.
Across all competitions, Rațiu took to the pitch on a hefty 50 occasions, chipping in with a goal and four assists from his berth at right-back along the way.
At one point, Hansi Flick’s Barcelona, in turn, were even labelled as a potential landing spot for the 28-year-old.
And as alluded to above, this week, two clubs from the Premier League are understood to have thrown their hat in the ring for Rațiu, too.
As per a report from transfer insider Matteo Moretto of Marca:
‘Newcastle and Nottingham Forest are closely following Andrei Rațiu from Rayo.’
