New leader emerges in race for Getafe loanee Mason Greenwood

A new suitor have positioned themselves at the front of the queue to snap up Manchester United star Mason Greenwood this summer.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing sources in the Italian media this week.

Frontman Greenwood, for his part, has of course spent the season to date lining out in La Liga, for José Bordalás’ Getafe.

And the loan stint has proven a productive one for club and player alike, with the 22-year-old, to date, having racked up 10 goals and six assists across 31 appearances in all competitions.

Such production has seen the Getafe brass make clear their hopes of keeping hold of Greenwood into next season, and potentially beyond.

The reality, though, is that the Englishman is in line to end up elsewhere.

And, as per the aforementioned MD, the most likely landing spot as things stand comes in Serie A, with heavyweights Juventus.

The Bianconeri are understood to be expressing a keen interest in Greenwood’s signature ahead of the summer, ready to table an offer to parent club Manchester United.

Juve, in turn, are labelled as the club ‘best positioned’ to strike a deal, despite further interest in La Liga from the likes of Barcelona and Atlético Madrid.
