New face spotted in Barcelona training on eve of Sevilla clash

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick opted to call up another highly-regarded member of the club’s youth setup to first-team training on Saturday.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Alex Campos as the player in question.

Campos, for his part, is a 16-year-old central defender, who has long been making a name for himself as a potential star in the making in La Masia.

The Spaniard boasts physical and technical gifts in equal measure, traits which allow Campos to step into midfield on occasion, too.

And such talents, evidently, have not gone unnoticed at senior level in Catalunya’s capital.

This comes amid confirmation that, on Saturday, Campos played his part in first-team training, alongside the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad.

This marked the youngster’s first-ever senior session, with many more no doubt set to follow.

Interestingly, Flick’s decision to call Campos up comes just 24 hours out from Barcelona’s post-international break return to action, with the Blaugrana set to play host to Sevilla in a La Liga clash on Sunday evening.
