New face in Real Madrid squad for Alavés clash

A highly-regarded member of the youth ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has been included in the club’s squad for their upcoming meeting with Alavés.

Real, of course, will mark their return to action on Tuesday, as part of the midweek round of La Liga fixtures.

With his side having long wrapped up the Spanish top-flight title, Carlo Ancelotti is again expected to heavily rotate his XI, ahead of next month’s Champions League final.

And one player who could yet benefit from as much comes in the form of Mario Martín.

Martín, for his part, is a 20-year-old midfielder, who has spent the season to date plying his trade with Real Madrid Castilla.

His performances have long piqued the attentions of the first-team coaching staff, with the Spaniard having actually taken to the pitch in a Copa del Rey meeting with Arandina earlier in the season.

And Martín could soon follow up with his first-ever La Liga appearance, too.
