Andriy Lunin had an outstanding season last time out for Real Madrid as he stood in for their first-choice goalie Thibaut Courtois who was out due to injury.
Despite falling back to being a backup, the management at Real Madrid are said to have an offer for the Ukrainian in the works to extend his contract.
As per Marca, Lunin is set to renew until 2028, a three-year extension on his current deal which is set to expire next year. An announcement is set to be announced later this week.
The delay in an agreement being made is said to be due to doubts on the part of the Ukranian concerning the minutes he could be set to receive this season, but this issue seems to have been resolved.
Andriy Lunin must be confident he can compete with Courtois for minutes, following his solid performances between the sticks last season.
Next up, Los Blancos will be looking to make a start on dealing with the players who have contracts set to expire next year, with Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vázquez in the mix.
