Negreira Case to be addressed by RFEF and referees on Thursday

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) will appear before the media on Thursday, March 2, at 2pm CET, to address the ‘Negreira Case’, the RFEF has announced.

The RFEF’s general secretary, Andreu Camps, will be joined by the president of the CTA, Luis Medina Cantalejo at the press conference.

Marca report that the RFEF will address a number of current issues, with the events of the ‘Negreira Case’ likely to be the main topic of discussion.

This comes off the back of the storm that hit Spanish football last week, after it was reported that former vice-president of the CTA, José María Enríquez Negreira, had received payments of €1.4m for alleged corruption from FC Barcelona between 2016 and 2018.

The RFEF announced that the entire refereeing establishment would be represented at the press conference, whilst the CTA has also invited former referees who have been a part of the group in recent years.
