Nacho Fernández’s future remains uncertain at Real Madrid

A great deal of uncertainty remains over Nacho Fernández’s future at Real Madrid, report Relevo.

The 33-year-old joined Los Blancos’ youth academy in 2001 and he has been with the club ever since. However, his time at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu may come to an end in a couple of months.

Nacho’s deal with Real Madrid is set to expire in June and the club’s board have not shown any sign as of yet of wanting to renew the Spaniard’s contract.

Having only started one match in La Liga so far this season, the Madrileño has been struggling for minutes under Carlo Ancelotti these last couple of months.

Despite interest from elsewhere – including AC Milan from Serie A, Wolves from the Premier League and the MLS – Nacho is very much committed to continuing to play for Real Madrid, as communicated last year.

The Spanish international may end up choosing to retire if Los Blancos do not extend his current deal.
