Sporting CP star Morten Hjulmand has this weekend responded to recent speculation linking him with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The name of midfielder Hjulmand has of course emerged as a prominent one in the Spanish media across the week to date.
This comes amid the understanding that, amid an ongoing search for reinforcements in the middle of the park, the aforementioned Real Madrid have earmarked the Dane as a leading target.
Hjulmand is in the midst of another stellar campaign in Lisbon to date, giving rise to three goals and six assists across 44 appearances in all competitions.
Speaking to the media ahead of Sporting’s Taça de Portugal finale meeting with Torreense on Sunday, the 26-year-old was today therefore drawn on his Blancos links.
And Hjulmand went on to explain:
“It’s a great honour for me to see my name associated with a club like Real Madrid, but I’m at Sporting and I have a lot of love for this club. Therefore, my focus is on being here and tomorrow’s game. I will talk about my future after tomorrow’s game, that’s for sure. As for being a starter, I’ve trained well, but that depends on the manager.”
