Monza interested in signing Papu Gómez from Sevilla

Monza are planning to make a move for Argentina international Papu Gómez, report AS.

It is believed that the 34-year-old had a falling out with the Sevilla board right before the international break and the club are keen to offload him in the January transfer window.

Gómez was not included in Los Nervionenses’ match squad for the team’s last game in La Liga before the World Cup against Real Sociedad.

According to the latest reports, Silvio Berlusconi’s Monza are keen to sign the Argentine in the new year. Having played for Atalanta between 2014 and 2021, Serie A would not be unfamiliar territory for Gómez. With his current situation at Sevilla, it seems very unlikely he would get many minutes at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán if he chooses to stay for the rest of the season.

Gómez is currently away on international duty with Argentina at the World Cup. So far he has made two appearances for his country at the tournament as a substitute
