Speaking to Cadena SER, Sevilla sporting director Monchi explained the latest situation with Anthony Martial after the Frenchman was forced off in the club’s 3-2 defeat to Real Madrid on Sunday.
“Martial doesn’t look good. He won’t be ready for Thursday. He’s a great player… He arrives, he doesn’t know the language, the city.
“I don’t close the door to his continuity. We’ll have to talk to the boy to find out if he’s happy or not.
“He was a risky bet, less expensive than people think. I have read around €5-6 million and it is not that much. It is difficult to analyse his overall performance because he has been injured. I think his performance has been good, he makes the players who are around him better.”
