In an interview with Muchodeporte, Sevilla sporting director Monchi discussed various aspects of the club.
On Real Madrid player Isco
The Spaniard is coming to the end of his contract at Real Madrid and has offers at his disposal, including one from Qatar and others from Europe, like Fiorentina, according to AS.
Monchi spoke about possible interest in Isco: “I haven’t heard Julen [Lopetegui] say he wants Isco. He has said he is a good player. And if you ask me I’d say he’s a good player. He’s different from Tecatito. With Tecatito there was a shared interest between what Lopetegui wanted and the recruitment side. Lopetegui likes Isco and so do I, but there is nothing happening.”
On Diego Carlos and Lucas Ocampos
Despite Newcastle’s interest in defender Diego Carlos, Monchi says that both the Brazilian centre-back and Lucas Ocampos, both of whom are due to finish their contracts in 2024, have long since extended their deals with Sevilla. “Diego Carlos and Lucas Ocampos signed new deals 14 months ago. We have not communicated this for strategic reasons,” said Monchi.
