Marcos Alonso set to travel to Barcelona

Marcos Alonso is scheduled to travel to Barcelona in order to complete his move to the Blaugrana, report Mundo Deportivo.

Yesterday it was communicated that Joan Laporta promised the 31-year-old that he will do anything within his means to sign him before the closing of the transfer window tomorrow night.

He was not included in Chelsea’s squad last night for their game against Southampton.

However, Barcelona still need to offload a couple of players before they can complete the signing of Alonso as they need to stay within La Liga’s financial regulations.

It is believed that Barça will pay no more than €10m to secure the Spaniard’s services. Barcelona and Alonso have already agreed personal terms a couple of months ago.

The Catalan outfit are still negotiating a transfer fee with Chelsea for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and earlier today it was reported that they have an agreement in place with Villarreal to loan out Sergiño Dest, pending the player’s approval.
