Marco Asensio wants to renew his contract with Real Madrid

In his post-match interview following Real Madrid’s 3-2 victory against Villarreal in the Copa del Rey, Marco Asensio has revealed that he is keen on renewing his contract at the Estadio de Santiago Bernabéu.

The 26-year-old’s contract with Los Blancos is set to expire in the summer and earlier this month it was reported that he would sit down with Jorge Mendes to discuss his future.

Despite being linked with some of most prestigious clubs in the world, including Premier League leaders Arsenal and Serie A side Juventus, the Spaniard has revealed in the interview that appeared on AS that his priority is to continue with the European champions:

“I would like to renew and continue for many years, but it does not only depend on me. For me, the important thing is to be happy in sporting terms and I hope it will be at Madrid.”

Asensio is eager to sit down with Real Madrid’s board soon so that they can make a decision regarding his future in the Spanish capital.
