Marcão close to making Sevilla debut

Marcão is close to being given the all-clear to make his Sevilla debut, report Estadio Deportivo.

The Brazilian centre-back arrived to Los Nervionenses from Galatasaray in July for a fee of €12m plus €3m in add-ons. He was brought in to replace Diego Carlos and Jules Koundé, who left for Aston Villa and Barcelona respectively. However, Marcão is yet to make an appearance for Sevilla as he has been struggling with a hamstring problem.

The 26-year-old spent the start of the season training alone and Sevilla fans were hopeful that he would make his debut after the international break. Despite completing two full sessions prior to their game against Atlético Madrid, the club’s medical team did not deem Marcão fit enough to make an appearance in a competitive fixture.

While he will not play against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, Sevilla supporters hope that he will be available for their match against Athletic Bilbao on the weekend.
