Marc Bartra asks Giovani Lo Celso to return to Real Betis

Real Betis defender Marc Bartra took to social media to urge Giovani Lo Celso to join the green and white team. The La Liga side are working on the possibility of bringing the midfielder back to Spain, but nothing is at an advanced stage yet.

The Betis sporting directors are all in agreement that the return of Lo Celso would provide a much needed boost to manager Manuel Pellegrini’s squad. As reported by Marca, the Argentine is the Verdiblancos’ number one target to replace Nabil Fekir, if he finally puts an end to his time at Benito Villamarín.

However, negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur’s will be difficult and there is no guarantee over a deal materialising. The Premier League recently offered the attacking player in a swap deal for Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey, however this offer was swiftly rejected.

The 28-year-old, who has has maintained contact with Betis and several of his former teammates, is beginning to receive messages asking him to return. Batra is one of these teammates and he took advantage of Lionel Messi’s Instagram post to urge Lo Celso to rejoin the club.

He said: “Happy birthday Leo! And tell the one wearing the hat on the back that it’s for sale now.”

The Catalan centre back was addressing the Spurs player, who has one year left on his contract with the English club.
