Manuel Pellegrini: “I’m very happy with the team’s attitude.”

Last night Real Betis defeated HJK Helsinki 3-0 in the final round of the Europa League group stages.

In his post-match interview that appeared on AS, Manuel Pellegrini expressed the importance of the victory:

“This victory allows us to continue to grow and not settle for specific moments in a game in order to have a good season. The team went out to win from the first minute without thinking about other things. I’m very happy with the team’s attitude, for keeping a clean sheet and for scoring three goals.”

Despite Los Verdiblancos’ victory, the Chilean coach’s questions were focused on their upcoming derby against Sevilla:

“It’s the next game and now it’s the most important, but before that it was tonight’s game. Confidence is high at the moment. We are going to play against a Champions League team that is going through a difficult period, but the quality of their players is the same as last year. We will have to play a great game in defence and attack.”
