Manchester United step up pursuit of Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra

As reported by Relevo, Manchester United have drawn up a plan to sign Valencia player Javi Guerra. The English side have sent scouts on several occasions to see the Spanish player.

Ideally, the club would want to keep Guerra in the January transfer window, as he is one of their many young talents who play a vital role in the team. Despite this, strong interest from Premier League clubs will likely lead to a lucrative offer being made, which could be too difficult for Los Che to turn down.

United have been monitoring the situation of the 20-year-old for a long period and the feedback they have received from their scouts has been overwhelmingly positive and consequently, they have made contact with the player’s entourage.

Unlike other clubs that have Guerra on their list of targets, the Manchester-based club have gone a step further and made the player aware of their interest. Valencia haven’t put a price on the Spaniard, as he has a €100m release clause in his deal and they don’t want to lose him in January at any cost.

The two clubs will likely sit down in the summer to discuss the transfer, which will be around the €40m mark, an amount of which Villarreal would take 30% as agreed by both clubs when the player was transferred. Juventus also hold interest in Guerra, however, the Italian club are unlikely to be able to meet the financial demands of Valencia, meaning the Premier League remains his most likely destination in the summer.
