Manchester United agree fee with Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong

Manchester United have agreed to pay Barcelona a guaranteed fee of €75million for Frenkie de Jong, according to The Athletic.

Richard Arnold, United’s CEO, and the club’s football director John Murtough both travelled to Barcelona in recent days to accelerate talks with Barça.

United could also pay €10million in add-ons to the Camp Nou outfit for the Dutch midfielder.

The Premier League club will now aim to convince De Jong to agree personal terms.

De Jong currently wants to stay in Barcelona, where he still has four years remaining on his current deal and is owed a payment worth €17million from Barça, which is still stalling the deal between the clubs.
