Manchester City are preparing a meeting to discuss Bernardo Silva’s future amidst the interest from Barcelona, report Mundo Deportivo.
The Portuguese midfielder was linked with a move to the Catalan coast throughout the summer transfer window and has told Manchester City that he would like to move to Barcelona in the future.
While the club appreciate Bernardo Silva’s honesty, the Premier League side want to know the player’s timeline and develop a strategy to find a replacement in the 2023 summer transfer window.
The 28-year-old has a contract with Manchester City until June 2025 and it is believed that they will not accept an offer below £80m (~€90m).
While Pep Guardiola is keen to keep him, the club will not stand in Bernardo Silva’s way if he wants to move on.
It is looking increasingly likely that the player will move to Barcelona. Manchester City will want to use the meeting to clarify whether Bernardo Silva intends to leave this coming January or next summer.
