Manchester City left-back Angeliño has permanent move to RB Leipzig triggered

The Athletic’s Sam Lee reports that Man City’s Spanish left-back Angeliño will move to RB Leipzig on a permanent transfer in the summer after his £16 million obligation to buy was triggered.

The Galician defender’s appearance in Leipzig’s match against Augsburg on Friday night triggered the obligation to buy in the initial loan contract. According to the report, the 24-year-old’s loan will continue until the summer when the transfer window opens and Leipzig are allowed to register new signings.

The former Spain U21 full-back has featured in 95 per cent of minutes for the Bundesliga side this season.
