According to Fabrizio Romano, talks between Manchester City and Brighton are continuing as the Premier League champions look to complete a move for Marc Cucurella.
Cucurella is reportedly disappointed with Brighton’s high asking price having already told the club he wants to leave for Pep Guardiola’s side.
The 23-year-old joined Brighton from Getafe in August 2021 and enjoyed an impressive debut season in the Premier League.
In 2021/22, he played a total of 34 Premier League games, scoring one goal and providing an assist, and has attracted the interest of other big sides in English football.
The pacey full-back started out with Espanyol before joining Barcelona at underage level. He had loan spells at Eibar and Getafe and eventually joined Getafe on a permanent deal from Barcelona in 2020.
Brighton travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United in their opening fixture of the 2022/23 season and it remains to be seen if the Spaniard will be playing for Graham Potter’s side.
