Manchester City agree deal to sign Girona winger Sávio this summer

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have agreed a deal to sign Girona winger Sávio this summer, with documents already being prepared between all parties. Savinho will be part of the City first-team set-up from July and will be ready to start pre-season under Pep Guardiola.

The 19-year-old has been crucial in Girona’s unexpected title charge this season. The Brazilian has made 23 appearances in the current La Liga campaign, scoring five goals and notching seven assists. Due to his impressive form, the forward has attracted interest from various Premier League and Bundesliga clubs.

Girona are part-owned by City Football Group, who are the holding company that owns Manchester City and several other clubs. Sávio joined French side Troyes, another City Football Group affiliated club, in 2022 before being loaned to PSV and then Girona last summer.

City began their pursuit of the player back in December and have now agreed the transfer. However, the winger will stay at the La Liga leaders until the summer, as he looks to help Girona maintain their title charge in the second half of the season.

Sávio has primarily operated as a left-winger in Spain and is therefore likely to add completion for Jack Grealish, Jérémy Doku, Phil Foden, Bernardo Silva and Oscar Bobb in wide areas for the Citizens.
