Man United’s Mason Greenwood bags Getafe award

Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood has, today, seen his fine recent form in Spain rewarded.

Frontman Greenwood, of course, was afforded something of a 2nd chance this past summer, in being brought in by Getafe for the duration of the 2023/24 campaign.

And, after something of a hit-and-miss start to life in La Liga, the last couple of months have seen the England international begin to repay the faith of the powers that be at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.

A straight red card against Rayo Vallecano last time out aside, Greenwood has thoroughly impressed of late, racking up five direct goal contributions in his prior five outings.

This included a goal and an assist in a 3-0 triumph at Sevilla, followed by another standout display en route to a fine point secured at high-flying Atlético Madrid late last month.

In turn, on Friday, it should not come as a major surprise to hear of Greenwood’s recent exploits being recognised by the Getafe faithful.

As per a statement released across the Azulones’ website and social media platforms, the Manchester United academy product has been voted Getafe Player of the Month for December.
