Man United’s Antony to miss Real Madrid clash after Real Betis red card

Real Betis won’t be able to call on the services of the in-form Antony in the club’s next outing.

This comes owing to developments in the Vediblancos’ meeting with Getafe on Sunday.

Manuel Pellegrini’s troops are fresh off securing a fresh three points, courtesy of an Isco-inspired 2-1 triumph at the Estadio Coliseum.

The aforementioned Antony, for his part, was in from the off once more for the fixture, marking his latest appearance with the assist for Betis’ opener.

As much took the Brazilian’s tally to five direct goal contributions in five appearances since his winter arrival in Spain.

As alluded to above, however, Antony’s latest fine showing was soured in the game’s closing moments.

This came after what looked a somewhat innocuous challenge on the part of the Manchester United man was sent to VAR, culminating in a straight red card.

Antony, in turn, will be suspended for Real Betis’ next outing, when the Andalusians play host to Real Madrid on March 1st.
