Man City star Haaland equals Cristiano Ronaldo’s all-time Real Madrid goalscoring record

Manchester City star Erling Haaland has on Sunday secured for himself a fresh piece of football history.

This comes owing to developments in City’s Premier League meeting with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

The Premier League champions currently find themselves locked in action with Arsenal, in an early-season title battle at The Etihad.

As things stand, it is the latter who boast the advantage when it comes to the scoreline, leading their hosts by two goals to one.

It was Man City, though, who opened the scoring in the clash, upon the aforementioned Erling Haaland breaking through in behind, to slot a composed finish home at the near post.

And, as alluded to above, in the process, the Norwegian international made history.

As revealed by statisticians StatMuse, Haaland has equalled Cristiano Ronaldo as the fastest player to ever reach 100 goals for a single club.

The former Borussia Dortmund man has taken 105 appearances to reach the mark, the exact same number as were needed by five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo, after joining Real Madrid.
