Man City star admits Real Madrid are ‘stronger’ than last season

Manchester City star Bernardo Silva has revealed his take that La Liga giants Real Madrid have improved since last season.

City and Real, of course locked horns on the continent last week.

In the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie between the clubs, the latter acted as hosts, in a highly-anticipated showdown at the Santiago Bernabéu.

When all was said and done, the spoils were shared, by way of a pulsating 3-3 draw.

As much means that the tie remains on a knife-edge, ahead of Wednesday’s return leg matchup at The Etihad.

And one individual of the opinion that his side will not have as easy a time of things in putting Real Madrid to the sword in Manchester this time round, as alluded to above, comes in the form of Bernardo Silva.

Los Blancos were sent packing from the Champions League by none other than Pep Guardiola’s City last season, when a first-leg stalemate in Spain was followed by a 4-0 Sky Blues rout back in England.

Speaking to the media in anticipation of Wednesday’s clash, though, midfielder Bernardo pointed towards Carlo Ancelotti’s side being a ‘stronger’ one than they faced just shy of a year ago:

“I see Real Madrid stronger this year. That’s my feeling after the match at the Bernabéu.”
