Premier League giants Manchester City have emerged as the new frontrunners to pry Rodrygo away from Real Madrid.
This comes amid confirmation of the Sky Blues’ ongoing interest in the signature of the Brazilian.
Frontman Rodrygo is of course in the midst of another underwhelming opening to the campaign to date.
Struggling to produce in the final third, the 24-year-old has been condemned to a bit-part role by new manager Xabi Alonso, featuring chiefly off the bench as an impact substitute.
The fact remains, though, that Rodrygo has not found the net in any of his last 28 appearances in Real Madrid’s colours.
For this reason, Los Blancos are understood to be open to permanent offers for his signature.
And such a proposal, as alluded to above, could yet arrive in Spain’s capital via one of English football’s leading clubs.
As per a report from Fichajes:
‘Manchester City have emerged as the main favorites to bolster their attack with him. Pep Guardiola’s club leads the race for Rodrygo, thanks to their financial strength and a sporting project that could prove attractive to the Brazilian.’
Citizens boss Pep Guardiola is a long-term admirer of Rodrygo’s talents, and is evidently of the opinion that the attacker could rediscover his brilliant best under his watch.
