Mallorca star misses training ahead of Athletic Club meeting

A star member of the midfield ranks at La Liga outfit RCD Mallorca was a notable absentee from group training on Thursday afternoon.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Dani Rodríguez as the player in question.

Rodríguez, for his part, is in the midst of what has been an altogether impressive individual campaign to date.

The Spaniard has featured in some capacity in each and every one of Mallorca’s 26 league fixtures. And, along the way, he has chipped in with four goals and six assists.

Fans of the Bermellones may therefore be concerned to hear that Rodríguez played no part in group training with the rest of Jagoba Arrasate’s squad earlier today.

Such supporters, however, need not fret.

As per MD:

‘Dani Rodríguez was the only absentee from Thursday’s training session as a precaution, after some discomfort prevented him from finishing Wednesday’s training session.’

The 36-year-old is expected to be cleared to play his part on Sunday, when Mallorca make the trip to the Basque Country for a meeting with Athletic Club.
