Luka Modrić wants to stay at Real Madrid despite interest from Saudi Arabia

Luka Modrić is eager to stay at Real Madrid beyond this summer, report AS.

The Croatian midfielder’s contract at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu is set to expire in June and as of the 1st of January he is free to sign pre-contractual agreements with other clubs.

It is believed that Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr are keen to bring Modrić to the Middle East, where he would have the chance to reunite with his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, the 37-year-old is not thinking about leaving Los Blancos. Modrić is keen on extending his stay in the Spanish capital by at least a year and he is expected to sit down with the club’s board to negotiate a renewal.

Even though he will be turning 38 at the beginning of next season, Modrić is hoping to continue playing at the highest level of professional football and last year it was communicated that he wants to make an appearance at Euro 2024.
