Luka Modric: “It’s an incredible night.”

Speaking to Movistar after Real Madrid advanced to the Champions League semi-finals, Luka Modric gave his thoughts on the game.

“It’s an incredible night, a huge night. It tastes very sweet. We didn’t give up and we kept believing despite being 3-0 down, but we weren’t bad. They scored all their chances.

“We kept fighting and believing that we could come back. Ancelotti made good changes and the subs changed the game.

“We are used to suffering, like in knockout games against Juventus, Bayern, Ajax. Today we’ve suffered but we’re through and that’s the most important thing. We gave everything out there and showed so much character.”

On fans singing his name

“It’s a proud moment hearing the fans sing my name. Since day 1 I’ve always tried to give that love back with my performances on the pitch.”

On how long he will play until

“I don’t know how long I’m going to play until but as long as I feel good I’ll play.”

Man City or Atlético

“It’s a tough question. If you want to win the Champions League you have to beat the big teams but it’s more important that we’re there. Tomorrow, we can enjoy the game.”
