Luis Suárez bids farewell to Nacional

Luis Suárez has said goodbye to Nacional following the end of Uruguayan Primera División season, report Mundo Deportivo.

The former Atlético Madrid and Barcelona striker re-joined the Montevideo-based outfit where he started his professional footballing career this past summer following the expiration of his contract with Los Colchoneros at the end of the 2021-22 season.

Arriving during the middle of the Uruguayan season, Suárez made an immediate impact at Nacional, scoring 8 goals in 14 league games, as well as making 3 assists, helping the club win their 49th league title.

Last Sunday Nacional fans flocked to the Estadio Gran Parque Central to bid farewell to El Pistolero and celebrate their title win in an official ceremony.

Suárez is expected to go to the World Cup at the end of this month to represent Uruguay on the biggest stage of international football. However, it is yet to be known what his plans are after the tournament.
