Barcelona legend Luis Suárez has this week weighed in on the club’s ongoing pursuit of reinforcements at centre-forward.
The opinion of the Uruguayan? That the Camp Nou brass should go all out to bring Julián Alvarez in from La Liga rivals Atlético Madrid.
Iconic goalscorer Suárez of course has experience of leading the line for both Barcelona and Atlético. Not only that, but the 39-year-old secured league titles on the books of both.
Speaking during an appearance in front of the media this week, Suárez was therefore asked for his take on the former’s widely-discussed striker search.
Amid an ongoing search for a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, Barca are understood to have earmarked the aforementioned Julián Alvarez as their priority target.
And Suárez is of the opinion that Deco and co. have made the right call, with the Argentine boasting ‘everything needed to succeed’ in Catalunya’s capital:
“If I had to choose a striker for Barcelona, I’d choose Julián Álvarez. He has everything needed to succeed there. For me, he’s one of the most complete forwards in world football because of everything he contributes, not just goals.”
