Luis Enrique sends message to Real Madrid-bound Kylian Mbappé after latest PSG benching

Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has this afternoon moved to send a public message to Kylian Mbappé, regarding his future beyond the summer.

And the message in question will no doubt be met with excitement on the part of those of a Real Madrid persuasion.

The name of frontman Mbappé has found its way into the media headlines across Europe once more on Sunday.

This comes after the 25-year-old – fresh off proving himself the decisive figure in guiding PSG into the quarter-finals of the Champions League in midweek – was dropped to the bench for the capital giants’ latest outing.

PSG played host to Reims earlier today, comfortable in the knowledge that they could afford to drop points for the third game running, owing to a hefty nine-point advantage atop the Ligue 1 table.

In turn, boss Enrique felt it the right time to relegate Mbappé to the bench once more.

His decision, however, ultimately proved costly, with the introduction of PSG’s star man a little over 15 minutes from time having not proven enough to avoid an eventual 2-2 stalemate.

Speaking to the media post-match, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Mbappé’s precarious situation in his squad was put to Luis Enrique once more.

As much, of course, comes with the France international widely expected to take his talents to Spain with Real Madrid in the summer.

And PSG’s headmaster, in his response, did little to quell such speculation, in explaining:

“I can only wish Mbappé the best for his future. I wish him the best of the best for his future.”
