Luis Enrique: “I’m very lucky to be the coach of a country where there are 50 players to choose from.”

Speaking in quotes picked up by AS after Spain beat Italy in Milan on Wednesday night, head coach Luis Enrique discussed the benefits of having so many players to choose from.

“I won’t read anything tomorrow [Thursday]. What I will do is analyse the match. With one and a half training sessions you can’t do more than that. I’m very lucky to be the coach of a country where there are 50 or so good players to choose from.

“The key was to go for the game from the start. The goals came from good pressure, and we could have scored more goals. At the end, they [Italy] pulled one back and had a chance to equalise.
