Luis Enrique: “I have to make the best decision for me and for the national team.”

Speaking after Spain were knocked out of the World Cup, Luis Enrique was asked about his future.

“I can’t tell you because I’ve already been asked, I don’t know. This is not the time to talk about my future. It’s of no interest. I’m very happy and if it were up to me, because of the love I’ve received, I’d stay for the rest of my life. But I have to make the best decision for me and for the national team,” he said in quotes picked up by Marca.

On defeat to Morocco

“I’m more than satisfied with what my team did. They executed my idea of football to perfection. I am proud of them. Bono was spectacular and I wish Morocco all the best.”

What is Spain missing?

“I’m very happy with the profile of players I have. They are the ones I have chosen. I congratulate my players for the way they competed. It’s a shame we didn’t match the fans’ expectations.”
