Luis de la Fuente’s Spain contract ends midway through Euro 2024

Luis de la Fuente is currently contracted until June 30th next year, which means that he would be out of contract during the European Championship.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) do however have full confidence in their manager and are looking to renew his contract, as reported by Relevo. The 62-year-old has had a solid start to his reign as Spain manager and the RFEF want to reward him.

De la Fuente has been in charge since March and has overseen eight games. Spain have won seven of them and the one loss was a shock defeat to Scotland in Glasgow.

The RFEF want the Spaniard to stay in charge for the 2026 World Cup and it is thought that after this international break they will sit down to speak with him and negotiate a contract extension.

The players in the national squad are delighted with the manager and he has bought a sense of stability that was not there under Luis Enrique.
