With all the injuries players seem to be suffering at the minute, it isn’t just clubs feeling the effects, but national teams too.
When Ferran Torres’ most recent injury hit the headlines, Spain boss Luis de la Fuente turned to Bryan Gil (23) to step up in his place. The problem is Bryan Gil is feeling the effects of injury as well.
The Girona star has also been ruled out of action for Spain after originally being called up. This is a tough break for Gil who has now missed both his last two call-ups for Spain due to injury.
Bryan played 31 minutes of Girona’s winning effort against Athletic Club at home and has made nine appearances for his new side since joining in the summer.
Spain will take on Denmark and Serbia during the international break but may be facing a selection dilemma in attack as they will be missing Bryan and Ferran Torres. At the same time, Nico Williams could be a doubt after not travelling with Athletic Club at the weekend.
