Luis Alberto will not move to Sevilla this summer

As broken by Fabrizio Romano, Luis Alberto will not join Sevilla this transfer window from Lazio.

Earlier this August it was communicated that Luis Alberto has told Lazio that he wants to leave the club and join Sevilla.

However, Lazio director Igli Tare confirmed that the deal is off: “He won’t leave Lazio this summer – so I can confirm that Luis Alberto will play with us again this season.”

It appears as though negotiations between the two clubs have broken down. The Italian outfit have put a €30 million price tag on Luis Alberto, which Los Nervionenses are not willing to pay.

The 29-year-old, who came through the Sevilla youth academy and started his career at the Andalucían side, stated that he would only leave Lazio in case he could join Los Nervionenses so that he can be closer to his family in Seville.

Luis Alberto’s contract wit Lazio is valid until June 2025.
